Jerzee Monet is one of those rarities. She is a truly individual singer and songwriter who sings about the issues important to her, instead of jumping on the usual urban bandwagon. And this album, 'Love And War', is a true testimony to this unique talent.
Almost every song on this album ranks as excellent, and none are bad at all. Each one is kind of folksy-urban, except 'Yeah' (ft. Eve) and 'Stop My Flow'. The majority of the songs have a distinctly r'n'b twang, but miss the usual no-nonsense attitude associated with most artists. Jerzee sings from the heart.
The truly excellent songs on the album are 'Most High' (there are two versions of this, one with DMX), 'Respect', which is kind of a preachy song, but not in a bad way, and 'Work It Out', which are incidentally the first three tracks on the album. 'Stop My Flow' works well as a detour from the softer songs and shows a spikier edge to Miss Monet's music.
The two pitfalls of the album are 'Tonight Is The Night', and 'Twisted', which features the diabolical Ja Rule. They are by no means bad songs, but don't reach the benchmark set by the other albums on the track.
So will you like Jerzee Monet? Well, if you like music by the likes of Mya, Kelly Rowland, LeAnn Rimes and the Brandy of old, I would seriously give this a shot. Or you could be adventurous and give your eardrums a treat. Either way, when you purchase this, you win bigtime!

When i first heard of Jerzee Monet, (before i heard her music) i thought she would be another pretty young rnb singer, singing about "boppy" love or heartbreak (think ashanti) but i was wrong! all the songs featured on her incredible album are sung from the heart with out front, or any kinda of pop trace. All songs are great to listen to - ive seen other people slate the song "twisted" with jarule, but i think that, that song is really good too as his gruff deep voice contrasts with her sweet harmonous vocals. Over all one of the best albums of the last year!

I never would of heard of Jerzee Monet if I didnt listen to specialist radio stations. What an excellent album. Soulful and traditional but with a southern twist.

Jerzee Monet is a talent that was sadly overlooked. Great CD and worth every penny. I hope we see her again with some new material in the future.

This is one of the most soulful albums I have heard in a long while. With down to earth lyrics and excellent vocals, this is a must for everyone with good R&B taste.
The only issue is: ITS TOO SHORT!
