This is the second of the Brothers in Arms series. Love Under Siege is very similar to The Courage to Love. The sex scenes in this book though similar are very erotic and show a new dimension to Menage a trois relationships. If you like your books with a bit of the forbidden I recommend Love Under Siege.

BROTHERS IN ARMS Book 2 - 'Love Under Siege'

Phillip Neville and Jonathan Overton have been best friends since childhood. When they return to England as veterans of the Napoleonic Wars, they enter the marriage market. It doesn't take long for them both to fall deeply in love with shy, awkward, beautiful Maggie Trueheart. Phillip and Maggie marry, but Phillip and Jonathan do not tell her about the menage a trois marriage the two men hope to have. When Maggie finds out, it takes the persuasive power of both men to convince her that this threesome was meant to be.

In the process of helping Maggie discover the sexually aggressive woman inside herself, Phillip and Jonathan realize their love for one another is more than friendship. Before the two men can consummate their relationship, however, a brutal attack on Maggie and Jonathan's self-recriminations drive the lovers apart. It will take all the love and determination the three possess to achieve their happily ever after.

I love these books but, and unfortunately they all seem the same in the end. Even so I enoyed it.

4.5 Blue Ribbons from Romance Junkies! 21 Feb. 2008
By Natalie S - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback
Maggie loves her husband, Phillip, and adores his best friend, Jonathan. Longing to satisfy her husband, Maggie suppresses her inhibitions and tries to fulfill Phillips many sexual fantasies. When Jonathan's light flirting becomes more provocative, Maggie realizes that not only does she love Phillip, but she is also falling hard for Jonathan. Mortified and unnerved by her emerging feelings, Maggie refuses to consider bringing Jonathan in as a third, even if it is something that Phillip strongly desires.

Jonathan Overton adores Phillip's wife, Maggie. But it is not only Maggie that has captured his heart, but Phillip as well. When his feelings of adoration are returned, he counts himself one of the luckiest men in the world. While Maggie balks at having Jonathan as a third in her marriage bed, she doesn't hesitate to show him independently how much she loves and desires him. Jonathan wants more, but secretly feels deep down that he is unworthy.

When tragedy strikes and Maggie is harmed, it will take more than her love to bring Jonathan back to her marriage; it will take Phillip's love for Jonathan as well.

LOVE UNDER SIEGE is achingly tender and compellingly erotic. While I was treated to a great historical, I was also enmeshed in a fabulous ménage. Stirring emotions bubble from all three main characters; emotions that twisted my heart as I watched them struggle to acknowledge and accept feelings, needs and wants. Because living in a ménage relationship invites many repercussions, Maggie's indecision is perfectly believable and understandable. I don't blame her a bit for her reservations and I feel the author handled Maggie's feelings with finesse. Upon reading about their longstanding friendship, Phillip and Jonathan charmed their way into my heart. I felt completely at ease with their love, and found their relationship both wonderfully heartwarming and exceedingly erotic.

LOVE UNDER SIEGE is the second Brothers in Arms book by Samantha Kane and I'm anticipating that it won't be the last. Samantha Kane very conveniently left some storylines hanging in LOVE UNDER SIEGE, and I can't wait to see if these issues are resolved in future novels! I emphatically salute Ms. Kane for a wonderful story well told!

Naughty, but not nice... 20 May 2008
By SusieQ - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback
As a reader who reads more romance novels than erotic ones, I guess I had too many romantic expectations (so to speak) about this book. The near-constant sex scenes, which I think actually become boringly repetitious, are about the only thing that are holding this story together.

The story certainly isn't held together by carefully developed characters, or, more disappointingly, by the author's building up a reader's sympathy and interest for/in these characters. From the first, I was a little put off by Phillip & Jonathan's blatant plotting to bring the innocent Maggie into their threesome (although a twosome is what the guys really want -even though they don't admit it to themselves at first).

Maggie struck me as being a very unoriginal, blah heroine. Once she overcomes her hesitations (which are given the shortest possible shrift) she's just kind of --there, taking whatever Phillip or Jonathan (or both) are dishing out to her. And then she's put into an almost obligatory danger-of-rape scene from a stalker/creep character, who's going to reveal the naughty menage to Society if Phillip and Jonathan don't get rid of him first. Creating a heroine who's hopeless at looking after herself is never high on my list of desirable fictional character traits.

Finally, but most importantly from my POV, I could never believe (despite their constant protestations of it) that these characters ever felt any love for each other. OK, perhaps expecting "love" between characters in an erotic novel is the wrong sort of expectation for the reader of an erotic book to have. But heck, Anais Nin has managed to convince me that her characters had love for each other, when she wanted to and when it suited her material. Should I expect less of Samantha Kane?

Johnathon and Philip are childhood friends and war vets. They search and find the woman they can both love in Maggie. While she marries Philip, it has been planned for them to be a true menage with Johnathon, and the fun begins when he moves in with them.
I like the story it is hot and goes through the historical points to catch you. The sex is great, and the scenes where the guys discover how hot sex together can get, WOW....

Book Obsessed Review: Love Under Siege 27 Sept. 2010
By Book Obsessed - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback
Phillip and Maggie have been living as husband and wife for a few short months before Jonathan arrives to live with them. Before Maggie and Phillip wed, she was unsure of which of the two men were courting her. Unbeknownst to Maggie, they both were.

What I really enjoyed about this book was the fact that Maggie was hesitant to become involved in a menage relationship. She needs time to really think about it and the repercussions that the relationship could cause. In other menage stories, you don't tend to find that. Everyone involved tends to fall into a menage relationship as if it's a normal everyday occurrence.

The sex between these three was extremely hot. Although Phillip and Jonathan did not start out being intimate with each other, you could tell that they wanted to be. The author did a really great job expressing their sexual tension. The flow of the story was good, but it just didn't seem to hold my focus.
