'Love To The World' was the third album from Love, Togetherness, and Devotion (L.T.D.) and while there's no doubting that for lovers of 70's soul/R&B this album is a delight, without the addition of any bonus tracks and a running time therefore of just over half an hour its not great value on cd (hence my three star rating).
Featuring the wonderful voice of drummer and vocalist Jeffrey Osbourne, there are however some really great moments on this album. Best track is the spiritual title track, a glorious, uplifting, soulful and immaculately played (BY REAL PEOPLE!!) song. Love your neighbour/brother etc may have been said a million times before but when L.T.D. send out that message you really believe they mean it! 'Time For Pleasure' is less good but continues the happy sound of this record and then we get the superb mid tempo Skip Scarbrough written classic 'Love Ballad' where J.O's magical vocals really shine. 'Get Your It Together' (lively up-tempo message song), 'Let The Music Keep Playing' (mid-tempo non J.O sung) and the unusual, percussion dominated, 'The Word' all maintain the high standard until the spiritual but rather pointless alternate version of the title track at the end of the album (featuring kids singing!). But then its over! Still, for a more decent half an hours R&B/Soul music, you will have to go a long way. Your call.
