After seeing Krystle Warren at two gigs, Rufus Wainwright's Lyceum Show, and in the Brighton Festival on her own, I was totally converted. She is original, with a whole jazz-folk genre to her name. It's a fabulous album, with brilliant songs, and wonderful instrumentation. But perhaps, what sets it apart from most albums these days is that it was recorded totally live in the studio, with no overdubs, but just the whole group playing and the singers singing all at the same time. This gives the album a real sense that the musicians are really playing for one another, and this really adds to the general sound.
