This was recommended to me by a friend. Never seen it in the shops, never heard of the actors but really, really enjoyed it. Amusing, true to life, touching, hilarious, poignant - so many characteristics. Would recommend it to anyone thinking of buying it. Refreshing to watch a film that is good because it is good and not because the lead roles are played by famous movie stars. Will be watching it again ... ...

Love and Sex proves to be a candid romantic comedy/drama that follows a pretty steady storyline without becoming overly complicated and more importantly, without hitting unrealistic plot points. The main character, Kate Welles (portrayed by Famke Janssen) is a thirty-something journalist facing imminent unemployment unless she can churn out a poignant, relevant and truthful article about love and being able to keep a man. Of course, as you'd expect, our heroine has very little experiencing of being able to keep any man or become content in a relationship long enough to truly advise others, leading her to do some soul searching and reminiscing about what went wrong with her relationship with a charming avant garde painter by the name of Adam (the talented Jon Favreau).
The film is a decent watch and has a lyrical and lulling soundtrack that truly captivates the butterflies and heartache of first true love. The characters were well drawn out (although some may find the heroine's 'doom and gloom' a little offputting) and the story was believable and grounded...yet there was still something quite unfulfilling about the film despite a good solid plot and predictable ending and I truly can't pinpoint what it was.

Quite simple but sweet movie. Great for Saturday night in. One of those movies you like to watch few times before you're bored of it. Offers few good guidelines on relationships. Good for girls and guys.

standard chick flick
Nothing new here, but good fun and very watchable.
Starts well with lots of laughs but goes down hill and is a bit down beat towards the end.

This film is quite good and is definitely worth watching.
