After playing on Miles Davis' "Kind Of Blue", he became one of the most influential band-leaders, and, in collaboration with producer David Axelrod, made some astounding concept albums such as "Country Preacher", "The Soul Of The Bible" and this one.
* Using his regular band, which included his brother Nat and George Duke, the album is built on a solid soul jazz groove, over which narrator Rick Holmes intones the sexual needs of the signs of the Zodiac. It is very period but is in-demand today because of the timeless music contained within.

A rare gem. This group backed the great radio announcer, Rick Holmes, for what would take on cult status. The material here is predictably the zodiac signs. Yet beautifully tracked with a melodic trajectory that soars. Listen to the entire piece at one setting. Inspiring, sonic, and will transport you to a galaxy of a jazz sensibility beyond quest.
