A wonderful CD to chill out and relax to,

'Love Scenes' is a must for all Beverly Craven fans, with a range of fabulous tracks. My favourites are 'Mollie's Song' - dedicated to Beverly's daughter, and the haunting 'In those days' - originally written for a BBC television series. Essential listening!

This album many years on is to me a masterpiece of beautifully feminine emotion, written with a smooth silkiness it's one of my favourites of all time. Personally I love a good female voice in music but to hear beverley's heartfelt emotion and bearing her soul brings her music very close to you. 'In those days' is one song that is so well written , soft, delicate, it takes you away and drifts your mind to a distant place, it's a beautifully descriptive masterpiece. We only have 3 cd's from Beverley and like many others I'm left desperately wanting more because nobody has matched her since. Light the candles have romantic dinner with the one you love and have this playing! A must buy if you ask me!

A great follow up to a great first album,
By Geoff Hall "Geoff Hall" (Borehamwood, UK) - See all my reviews

Having recently listened to this again, it sounds even better than I originally remembered it.This is a worthy follow-up to her first, eponymous album and feature a cracking set of songs. The title track and "Look No Further" are typical Beverley songs about guys' eyes wandering, "Hope" is, to me, someone trying to stay optimistic in the world of 1993 (it's very relevant today, too!) and the album finishes with a startling rendition of Abba's "The Winner Takes It All", which rivals the original and was planned for an Abba tribute album (which, I don't think, ever saw the light of day) - well, she and they did record for the same record label. Noted people on the album include Jeff Beck, who adds some really great guitar solos, and Miriam Stockley who is on backing vocals and is famous for her Adiemus vocals and a couple of very good solo albums. This is a superb album and, like her previous (first) album, again does not sound dated. She has made only one album since - "Mixed Emotions" which sums up my thoughts about that album - but this is top quality and "Closer To Home" which I haven't heard yet. I know she had some health problems and has split from her partner, Colin Campsie, but I hope we hear more of Beverley. I will certainly check out the unheard album.
