This newer DVD does have subtitles!,

This review is from: Love Is My Profession ( En cas de malheur ) [DVD] (DVD)
Well acted, especially by Jean Gabin, and there's no denying Bridget Bardot's sex appeal, although a more gifted actress might have made both the character and the whole film deeper.A middle aged attorney (Gabin) falls for a sexy young client (Bardot) after she bungles a stick up. They carry on an open affair, as Gabin's wife keeps waiting for him to come home, and as Bardot keeps vacillating between her older, stable lover, and her hot, volatile young boyfriend. Never boring, but stays pretty much on the surface most of the time, with an oddly light tone. However, the ending twist is quite moving, and gives the whole film a deeper resonance than it would have otherwise. As noted by the other reviewers, there are older DVDs without English subtitles. However, I bought the 'DVDVideo' (company name) version from 2006, and mine did indeed have English subs, as listed here on Amazon.

"Love is my Proffession" (En cas de malheur) is an excellent black & white film that offers a good story and good acting from both Bardot and Gabin. The story is from Georges Simenon (of Maigret fame) and the film is directed by Jean Gabin. Bardot proves that she really can act as well as looking seductive. It's a great film BUT the version I have is in French only with no sub-titles so if you can't handle that maybe you should choose a different film. If you have no problems with the French language and you enjoy a good film this is for you.

French films,
This review is from: Love Is My Profession ( En cas de malheur ) [DVD] (DVD)
Was looking forward to viewing dvd as l had previously seen film in 1958.
Was soooo disapointed it had not got sub-titles like the film l saw in 1958 when l was a schoolgirl. l did learn French to G.C.E. level but alas have forgotten all but the basics. So only watched the dvd for 40mins. or so as l did not understand it and got bored. l did not not enjoy it.but would have if it had been subtitled.
