When I sat to watch this movie, I expected it would be just a bit of fun but nothing more than that; I looked forward to the dancing and also trusted I couldn't go wrong with Amy Smart and Billy Zane. However, nothing could have prepared me for my introduction to Tom Malloy, an actor not exactly well-known in Europe, who practically swept me off my feet. He was charming, funny, delightful and an excellent dancer. The duet between him (Jake) and Nicola Royston (Corinne) half way through the film is sheer perfection. Such incredible chemistry, it was poetry in motion. I am a big fan of musicals and dancing movies and this one is now one of my most favourites. Who would have thought to portray a deaf dancer other than Tom Malloy who for this movie wore no less than three hats: actor, writer and co-producer...and he got straight A's on all three scores as far as I'm concerned. Amy Smart was incredibly sweet in this movie and did an amazing job on the dance routines! Billy Zane was delightful, what a character he portrayed, I'm still laughing with his antics! The soundrack is incredible, I just can't get the music out of my head. All in all, this is a fantastic piece of entertainment that I will be going back to again and again.
