The man is obsessed with tea. And music. Not sure which comes first... He'd probably say you can't enjoy one without the other...

This ISN'T a conceptual album about brewing beverages, happily (just a coupla references here and there). What it is, is a collection of story-driven, narrative songs that rely on melody, crafting and character to deliver. And deliver, they do. Remember when songs were songs? Dave clearly does. There are echoes of Kinks and Kirsty MacColl here, it's a very British confection and doesn't need to try too hard. Equal parts charm and earnest soul-searching, 'Love, Life, Loss and Tea' is an independent triumph, a troubadour following his voice and his star - and supported by a loyal and ever-growing fanbase.

Live favourites 'I Am What I Am' and 'Happy Sad Song' sit alongside new tracks like 'Call of Duty' and 'Metaphors'. My favourite track here is the confessional 'The Girl Who Said Yes', a painful exploration of the loss aspect of this collection in particular.

And it's a yes from me, Dave.

Never knew what indie music was before today, but i discovered this guy and now i like it. If you've never heard indie before and are unsure just listen to one song and i guarantee this will blow your mind.

+tea and biscuits = very good times
