I absolutely adore this book - it's rather a new edition and the combination of the beautiful poetry by Gibran, the stunning calligraphy by Metoui and the whole binding by the publisher is just perfect. I actually ordered this copy as a present for a close friend but have decided to keep it for myself and have ordered a new one for him...
Here is one of my favourite poems:

Who would sell me one beautiful thought
for a hundred pounds of gold? Who
would exchange one minute of love
for a handful of gems?
Who would give me one eye
that can see beauty,
in exchange for all my treasures?

Sublime writing stands the test of reading over and over. Each reading is different from the last and the next. Words written to make you think and question and to answer but hungry to read again. Beautiful!

A great little book, but not original material 13 Feb 2010
By 8bitPunk - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Hardcover|Amazon Verified Purchase
Love Letters in the Sand is a wonderful book containing a collection Khalil Gibran's writings about "Love".

Opposite each entry there is an artistic calligraphy illustration.

Almost half of this book contains writings pulled directly from "The Prophet" (This is why I only gave it 4 "stars" instead of 5). Though I was disappointed that this wasn't an "original" work by Khalil Gibran, the calligraphy makes up for it.

The book's small size (about 6 inches square) and illustrations make it ideal for display on a "coffee table" or; standing up, cover-out, on a book shelf.

A great addition to any library.

Gibran has a way of writing his own soul out into words. this book is a very nice collection of his brilliant poems and is a nice addition to his other great works

Stolen love letters 26 Mar 2011

If you aren't very creative and you need to send someone love letters, steal them from Khalil Gibran. Obviously. Although I don't think these are his best, they're probably still better than anything you could come up with. Unless you're a poet, which in that case, just write your own and keep this book around for hitting yourself in the head with, for inspiration.
