Box set of the popular wishful-thinking teen male manga anime about a young man plagued by girls at university. Attempting to fulfil a promise to his childhood sweetheart, Keitaro Urashima is determined to enter Tokyo University. After being rejected twice he opts to leave home and stay at his granny's apartment dorm to give him more peace to study. When he arrives, his grandmother, owner and manager of the dorm complex, is gone, leaving him not only with his own swinging bachelor pad at a tender young age, but with managerial duties to attend. The female residents of the apartment building take a shine to his studiousness and boyish good looks, however, and he's soon beset on all sides by nubiles wishing to pay the rent with anything but yen. Keitaro soon finds himself in the even more enviable position of having his childhood sweetheart living under the same roof. Will she understand, however, that he really has no intention of cashing in on the nightly romps offered him by the rest of the residents?

This Love Hina dvd box is well worth the expense: 24 episodes on 6 dvds with 2 mini documentaries among the extras (an interview with the director of the series and a glimpse at the making of the english audio dub). The adventures of Motoko, Shinobu, Kaolla, Mitsune, Haruka, Mutsumi and especially the relationship between Naru and Keitaro (which becomes more and more complex) is very entertaining. Even though lots of cliches show up (like being cought at the wrong moment on many occasions) it's been done with a humorous twist. There are also deeper and moving moments and sometimes even flashes of symbolism, which give the series that extra dimension. The excellent musical score and the various songs (like the moving ballad "Yakusoku") also contribute substancially.

Some scenes may not be suitable for very young children (there are some sexual references and a few "scary" moments); that is why the series is rated age 12 and up. However, this should not keep you from watching it, because all is brought with light-heartedness and it's really fun to watch!

This anime is very good and I highly recommend buying it.

A major downside to buying this though is, in my opinion the ending is to open and doesnt really come to any conclusion, also this DVD only has episodes 1 - 24 of the series, where there is in fact 25. There is also 3 longer episodes which are available on other DVDs so if you do end up liking this (and im sure you will!!) Just be prepared to spend a little extra to keep the story going and hope there is a proper ending!

This boxed set contains all twenty-five episodes of the Love Hina anime. The series follows perpetual looser Keitaro Urashima as he attempts to get into Tokyo University to fulfil a promise he made to a girl fifteen years ago. The problem is that he has already failed the entrance exam twice and he cannot even remember the name of the girl he made the promise to either. When Keitaro's grandmother makes him the manager of the Hinata Inn his life gets even more complicated as the Inn is now an all girls dorm and he makes a terrible first impression on the residents.

I did enjoy reading the Love Hina manga and although this anime series is nowhere near as good as that it is still very funny and entertaining to watch. The animation is generally good although it does tend to look a bit dated in places. The English dub is also generally of good quality, although Kitsune's accent does take some getting use to. The storyline itself is generally good but does tend to get bogged down in slapstick from time to time. Overall, although the series is not a patch on the original anime it is still a very enjoyable watch.

Konnichiwa!
I've been an anime/manga fan for quite a while now and always has been looking for new anime to enjoy, however when I started hearing things about Love Hina I decided to try out the book first too see whats the fuss is all about and oddly enough, I found the series to be more enjoyable than the books. I think for my reasons is because of the Japanese audio it gives it more of a better atmoshpere to it which fits well with the setting, so if your looking for a new anime series to join your dvd collection then "Love Hina" is the way to go!

This was definitely a bargain, and a rare find - normally a lot more expensive in the shops. I have so far seen only the beginning to middle and am enjoying.
It is a comedy about a boy going through high school.. growing up working in a steam bath house, the workers are some different girls. One of them Kaowla Sue.. a very hyperactive fun gutsy girl. Another - A kendo girl who is as hard as nails.
And many more to meet. There are some very interesting characters in this title.
The adventure where the lead guy can get easily into trouble with girls... e.g. punched or slammed through a wall when he says something wrong :D
A romantic comedy.
