Pros:
funny and highly entertaining story with a touch of sweetness to it.
Cons:
the wait for the sequel
Other Thoughts:
the storyline is fairly straightforward,
a girl named chika is turned away by her boyfriend whilst they are being intimate and turns to the geeky class rep keiji for practice on her fellatio technique.
whilst with him they both overhear her boyfriend telling his friend that he lost interest in chika after the discovery that her bra was heavily padded, keiji run's out and punches him for talking about chika like that and of course gets seven shades beat out of him.
after seeing keiji's chivalry chika starts to fall for him but cant bring herself to admit it to him.
so she proposes that they be sex friends although keiji who is head over heels for chika cant let this rest and continues to hound throughout the manga.
this is one of the best manga's i have in my collection the story is semi-romantic and sweet, the artwork is brilliant, and the comedy never stops.
i cant wait for the sequel.
i just hope eros and fantagraphics release it soon.

Excellent release, good to see a favorite series of mine published over here

A while back I was following the release schedule for Yanagida-kun to Mizuno-san (the Japanese name for this series) quite closely. The story was cute, the characters likable, the artwork superb, all in all a great read. One of those that makes you feel all warm and fuzzy inside. So when I see and ad for it (I recognized it by the cover) I clicked through assuming it was going to be a link to the Japanese release, but oh how wrong I was.
Not only was it translated, it was also on Amazon. I don't think I've hit the "add to cart" button faster in my life.
Having already read the source material I knew roughly what I was in for, and since that release had good translators I knew what to look for.
I must say I was not disappointed. Localization in my opinion is almost spot on, they don't seem to have really lost anything in translation, the source used for the release is both good quality and uncensored. All in all a slam dunk. My only complaint is the title while appropriate didn't really need to be changed from the original "Yanagida and Mizuno", but that's just personal preference and probably a bit of misty-eyed nostalgia.
Well...I guess there is one other complaint. It is really not made obvious this is volume one of two, not the complete story. So if you think the book ends on a bit of an abrupt note, that's not just you. Hopefully volume 2 will be released soon-ish, I have money burning a hole in my pocket here. ;)

Great story, considering is a Ero-manga

Having read a lot of different Ero mangas I must say that I am amazed with the level of story line and characters who are not just one sided. Aside from that, is an Ero manga, don't go on expecting to find a story with deep meanings and thoughts into it, you might not find it.
Buy the book, it is a worthy read.
PS: this manga is uncensored, so don't read it on your way home from work in the buss or subway.
