She lost her best friend and most of the family she’s started to consider her own. And she’s out of weapons, energy and solutions.

The night could not be any darker. Yet, morning comes anyway.

And with it, the decision to walk back out into the Zombie fray and find out what happened to Vaughan, Haley and the rest of their group.

Reagan will have to fight her way through hordes of Feeders and her own exhaustion before she finds out what happened to her friends, only to face the worst of all her enemies.

Reagan and the Parkers go head-to-head against Matthias and Linley Allen. In this cataclysmic finale to Season Two, Reagan and friends will make one last effort to escape the Colony for good.

Will they be able to get away? Or will Matthias spread his poison to every last one of them and punish them for the death of his favorite son?

A really great series. Loved this series. A bit sentimental at the end. But still, I really enjoyed it. Sad Hendrix and Regan didn't get back together though.

These books are really great however I'm not a fan of how they've been numbered. I find it really confusing on a kindle.

Epic conclusion to season two - check check checkity check

I wasn't sure how I was going to feel about the season finale. I mean, so much has happened just within the last two episodes...seriously, what more could happen?
Well...lots folks. Lots can happen.

We are back to crazy zombie battle scenes, fights for life (and death), characters getting what they finally deserve, and an ending that comes together perfectly.

This season put me through the ringer. I'm excited and so.freaking.nervous for season 3.
Is it December yet?
5.0 out of 5 stars Great series. But maybe Kane is still alive! 31 Oct. 2014
By Chris Puhara - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Kindle Edition
I finally finished both seasons. I say "finally" but I actually read it in about 2 1/2 days. I literally could not bring myself to be connected to the real world until I finished reading.

Overall, I think Reagan doesn't know what she wants and that's why she wavered back and forth between Kane and Hendrix. It's more indicative of what a teenager would go through than a supposed adult, but that's just my opinion.

Anyway, I am not convinced Kane is dead. Yeah, yeah, Reagan says she saw him fall, stab himself in the stomach, and she heard them eating him even though she didn't look back. Then she talks about seeing him half-eaten as they leave the bunker. And then she talks about not seeing his details clearly in the rain. It could be an entirely different person she saw the next day laying by the bunker. Kane has proven he can survive a LOT. Last season he survived being stabbed and kicked out of a moving vehicle. He survived the abuse dealt by his father. He survived a mysterious childhood auto-immune illness that should have killed him. I may be wrong, but to me that means he may very well be immune to feeder bites. He didn't go through chemo or radiation therapy but he survived that auto-immune illness. And finally, there was a hulking figure she saw clutching his neck and holding a gun when she looked back at the compound as they drove away. That could be Matthias. It could also be Kane.

Maybe I'm crazy. Okay, probably I'm crazy. But I pay attention to details. And Rachel gave several little hints that COULD provide an out to allow Kane to survive and resurface. So then I wonder, will Reagan be full-tilt with Hendrix again when Kane comes back? Or will she mourn him and stay single until he comes back, only for her to be so hardened inside that she won't allow herself to feel love for anybody until the cure is developed and ensures the survival of humanity and the eradication of the zombie virus?

I don't know. But I'm definitely anxiously awaiting December 12th.
5.0 out of 5 stars Sad to see the season end...but looking forward to more next season! 19 July 2014

Like with all reviews I do that follow a series, please do not read if you have not read the previous books. My reviews will contain spoilers for those previous ones.

If I survived this day, it would be a miracle.
That thought was somehow lost in the complex shuffle that every day I survived lately was a true
miracle.
God, the Zombie Apocalypse sucked so hard.
**

Stuck in the bunker with Page and Miller, Reagan and Hendrix must figure out a plan to get them past the zombies outside their door and to their family. But the final thoughts of what Kane sacrificed for them weighs heavily in the small confinement. Now is not the time to lose herself to his memories...now is the time to fight. And fight they will.

**
I could cry later. I could mourn Kane later.
First I had to get the people I loved, the people that were still alive, to anywhere but here.
**

This episode was the most action packed yet. Probably of both seasons. My heart is still hammering in my chest. There were times just knew that they were not going to be okay. That too many close calls were going to be final calls.

I hate coming to an end of a series that has encroached on my heart, my time, and my emotions over the past few months. The only bright side of the series ending is that it will be back by the end of the year.

Season Two was the group facing a new threat. Humans. Alive Humans, Humans whose souls were so perverse that the zombies were never really the threat. With this season over, I look forward to the new dangers the group will possibly face. Same characters, new troubles.

Well done Higginson. I look forward to where your imagination will take us in season three. I look forward to new people and *fingers crossed* to renewed love. I just look forward to it all...most of the zombies. 5 Why Do Things Have to End Stars!
5.0 out of 5 stars The perfect, non-perfect ending. 21 July 2014
By RunnerMom5 - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Kindle Edition
Survival is the thing on everyone's mind during this episode. Not only are Regan and Hendrix fighting to survive, they are fighting for Paige and Miller to survive as well. They are able to put all the raw emotions away and work as a team to escape the dismal situation they found themselves in. The threat of the zombies, and the threat from Mathias is greater than it has ever been, and the only way they will all survive is teamwork, which is executed perfectly.

This is why I loved this episode: I have been team Hendrix from the get go. At no point during the story did I waiver. I was always rooting for Hendrix and Regan to be together. After the last episode I was very anxious to see where the relationship would go, and what developed in this episode was perfect. Regan needs time to mourn Kane, and she needs to be in a better place mentally before she can move on with Hendrix (if she ever does). There is no happily ever after for them (yet), and that is ok. There is way too much healing that needs to take place first.

The end of season 2 feels a lot like a new beginning for the group. What they need is a fresh start in a new place, away from all the bitter memories of the last little while. I will anxiously await season three, and look forward to the new adventures that will come their way.
5.0 out of 5 stars and what happens in this bos actually heart breaking even if I didnt like him ibstill felt very emotional 12 Sept. 2014

Omg absolutely so many mixed emotions;, I have complete anger over the whole Reagan thinking she loves Kane, when reallybshe belongs with Hendrix! !!! It really driving me crazy, and what happens in this bos actually heart breaking even if I didnt like him ibstill felt very emotional. ...Now all I can beg for Is that Reagan will stop being stubborn and just run and jump on Hendrix abd steaa kiss which I feel he has been waiting for. Its time for her to step it up and get her feelings in check, because everyone knows that Hendrix is her back bone , her soul mate , and will never let her down no matter what goes down. He's a real man, with a beautiful, loyal and honest heart. Please, please, please let them become one again.... this would tame my emotions. .
