This book was a nice light diversion from the heavy suspense of the early book. The story line was fresh and I liked the explanation of where "vamps" came from - it was original and while probable to a degree, has absolutely no way of being verified...it was perfect!
The main characters were delightful and true to how I would imagine a crisis inspired turning would play out. The family was eclectic and the night life...original...I'll never look at a Bloody Mary the same!
It's a fun read and fast going. A great filler or for those short trips. Easy to be interrupted and yet still be able to get back into it with ease

Another light and funny read from lynsay sands; this one follows Lissianna's brother Etienne and coroner Rachel Garrett. Etienne is being targeted by a nutcase and ends up in the morgue (twice) and meets Rachel who ends up taking an axe to the chest to save him. Etienne turns Rachel to save her and has to show her the ropes of being a vampire - and deal with the madman (Pudge) who's really into "vampire chicks."
This book was fantastic. It was really funny and the characters were great. As with A Quick Bite it is not a dark vampire tale so if you are after that this will not appeal. I think this book is fab and well worth reading. I love this series and I am completely hooked.

I was a bit disappointed with this book and won't be rushing to read any of the others in the series. Sands is also a 'Mills & Boon - eque' romance writer and this was apparent here. I was expecting more 'urban fantasy' along the lines of Karen Chance or Ilona Andrews, or even something with a bit more depth like Nalini Singh (who also started in non-supernatural romance I think) - but this is simply a fluffy romance whose lead male happens to be an immortal (they don't like the term vammpire).
It was fine to read on a plane journey - a couple of hours and I was done, I left it on the plane with no regrets.
