More About the Author

Michele started writing professionally in 1992, working at agencies and on staff as a marketing/communication/writing specialist. In 1998 she started her business as a freelance copywriter. But she quickly realized her vision was bigger than serving her clients as a one-woman-shop. In 2004, she began the transformation to building a copywriting company.

Two years later, her vision has turned into reality. Michele PW/Creative Concepts and Copywriting LLC is the premiere direct response copywriting and marketing company today, catering to entrepreneurs and small business owners internationally, including the "Who's Who" of Internet Marketing.

In addition, Michele is also a national speaker and author, has completed two novels, and is a contributing author to the "Entrepreneur Press Start Up Guide to Information Marketing" and "Trust Your Heart: Transform Your Ideas to Income" (which is also an Amazon Bestseller). She holds a double major in English and Communications from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Currently she lives in the mountains of Prescott, Arizona with her husband Paul and her border collie Nick and southern squirrel hunter Cassie.

Understanding why you want to help the people that you do helps you to write to them from your heart. There is no need to fill them with fear, just show you love them and want them to move on with their lives by working with you. Thank you Michelle for showing me there is a better way to write. A great, easy to read book, full of resources and tips. It shows how to write copy that "calls the client to action" but without using typical cheesy, hard-sell or fear promoting "tricks" A must read for those wanting to attract clients to their business honestly and authentically. Michele PW has written an eminently practical and positively engaging CALL TO ACTION to bring more LOVE into the words that we use as entrepreneurs to lay out the journey that we are able to help our clients take from the pain they are in to the place they are dreaming of being.

For years I myself refused to write copy - especially long form sales pages - because the only examples I had were all based in fear, exaggeration, false urgency, guilting and shaming. As a medicine person and heart centered entrepreneur I just couldn't do that - so I chose instead to use speaking as my primary means of attracting and converting clients.

After reading Michele's book (and also having experienced being on the "ideal prospect" end of some of the copy that she's helped her clients to write) - I am breathing a HUGE SIGH of relief and giving serious thought to adjusting my marketing strategy!!

I'm sorry but this is book is weak. I suppose that if you are young and just thinking about direct marketing then you will get some basic ideas - decide on your ideal client, use their pain in a positive way, tell the truth, focus on benefits and solutions that are meaningful, etc - but the book states that it is designed to help both beginners and "advanced entrepreneurs" (I consider myself an experienced business person).
I cannot imagine any advanced entrepreneur getting anything from it that hasn't already been covered in much more valuable ways by the copywriting experts such as Dan Kennedy, Frank Kern, etc. She does, rightly, say that copywriting is a sales process (my paraphrase) but writers such as Neil Rackham and Tony Gillen have covered the real meat of the subject - that this author merely references in passing, almost.
Perhaps if this were a 99 cent pamphlet to introduce readers to her other products I'd not be as concerned but to charge $2.99 for it and to have it promoted as something special and new is just not on, I'm afraid.
Sorry but it was a real let-down.

If you've been online for longer than a week, you don't need to have an M.B.A. or an eagle eye to zero in all the marketing catchphrases, jargon, and overused buzzwords floating around in a sea of mundane crap. Not to mention the overinflated promises. Just open your email and they're in your face ... daily.

It doesn't take long at all to become numb to the noise and the nonsense.

My biggest takeaway from Michele's "Love-Based Copywriting" surrounds marketing mindset, credibility, and honing your people skills (a.k.a. relationship building). The common thread I picked up on is to re-examine your ideal client's problems and perspectives and to take a softer, gentler approach to sharing your messages with them via your copy. The "hard sell", in my estimation, has never cut the mustard and never will.

I've been following Michele online for years. Her copywriting prowess is stellar (and we've all seen the flip side of the copywriting coin).
