Just when you thought real love doesn't exist, you pick up a great piece of fiction like this that makes you think it just might. "Love to Love You Baby" is a humorous novel that you could see as becoming a movie, but with the detailed descriptions you can visualize the entire story from start to finish. If you've never read a Kasey Michaels' novel before, start with this one and you will soon want to read them all, as I did. I picked it up on a lonely night in New York, and didn't put it down until I'd finished it. Try it - you'll love it!!!

Funny, Madcap Romance! 20 Jan. 2002
By A Customer - Published on
Format: Mass Market Paperback
After reading the reviews, I felt compelled to submit my opinion! Let's face it, most of us don't read books like this expecting a lot of realism. I want entertainment, and with this book, I definitely was thoroughly entertained. The characters are hilarious, and eccentric to say the least. In many romances I read, the supporting characters are bland and boring. I usually skim through those scenes wanting to get to the interesting parts. In this book, I loved reading about the crazy characters--I wish they had been in more of the scenes! I agree with the reviewer who mentioned laughing her way through the book. I also found myself picturing the story as a movie in my mind. It reminded me of the hilarious movie "What's Up Doc?" with Barbra Streisand and Ryan O'Neal because of the zany characters and situtations. Was that movie realistic? Nope. Was it funny, extremely entertaining, even heartwarming and a very popular movie? You bet! I would recommend this book to anyone who likes romantic comedies!

Once again glad i don't put merit into bad reviews 20 April 2002

This book was adorable. I love how Kasey Michaels fills her book with wacky and fun loving characters. Sometimes her romance seems to take a backseat, but with everything else going on it doesn't take away from the book. There are several parts of this book I laughed out loud while reading. If you love fun books you will love this. I can't wait to read Jack's brother Tim's story!

Hit or Miss 6 May 2002
By A Customer - Published on
Format: Mass Market Paperback
Kasey Michaels books are often hit or miss....and this one I'm sorry to say is a MISS. Why? Well, you know it's supposed to be a comedy because that's what Michaels writes. But here the comedy is forced and frantic. All the characters from Cecily to Keely to Aunt Sadie all have verbal diarrhea: they run on and on and on at the mouth. What could have been a funny little monologue ends up being a long and tedious rant that runs out of steam before it finishes. The story is meant to be a farce but the reader feels manipulated. One of the only Kasey Michaels' books I enjoyed years ago was Can't Take my Eyes Off You. That was a cute, funny and romantic book. I keep giving her a "second chance" but she keeps letting me down. Sorry to be so negative but if your time is limited (like mine is) and you want to read only excellent romantic comedies, choose something by authors like Jennifer Crusie, Julia Quinn or Susan Elizabeth Phillips. Your time will be better spent.

Enjoyable and fun 19 Nov. 2001
By Nicole Miale - Published on
Format: Mass Market Paperback
The hero and heroine of Love to Love You, Baby make this story really engaging because they're so true to life and yet just a little off-center. Each has been washed up in their career of choice and is searching for the next thing. They're frustrated, frustrating (to each other) and just plain mixed up. Spending time with them and the adorable baby who accidentally lands in the hero's lap, as well as the daffy extended cast of characters, makes for a romance of sheer escapist fun. There are some slow spots in the middle, and some events seem forced for humor rather than enhancing the story, but overall, this is a good bet for a laugh and a few hours away from your own frustrations. It's not quite as good as Can't Take My Eyes Off Of You, but much better than Ms. Michaels' last effort. Give it a try.

A lighthearted read. 22 Nov. 2013

I have always enjoyed Ms Michaels' Regency novels and so was surprised to read a slapstick comedy, which is not my usual genre of reading material. Whilst I did laugh out aloud a number of times during reading the novel, I did become a bit irritated by the long passages of sometimes inane dialogue. I also became a bit confused in the final chapter when so many characters seemed to be talking at once, and at times I wasn't sure who was saying what. Nevertheless, although surrounding characters seemed rather far-fetched, the hero and heroine of the plot were believable and I felt for them. They had depth of character and responded to their situations as I have observed people doing in real life.
