For how big this book is, there's not really that much in it. There's a lot of nice pictures with a small amount of writing. This shouldn't put you off however as it is a nice book to have and look over again anytime. It's nice that it gives pictures of her home as that it what gives you the ideas. It's also nice to read more about her and sweden and her "swedish" practices. The recipes are a nice touch at the back of the book and i will be trying some of them out.

The author has an apartment that she rents in New York. She's done a nice job of decorating it in a Scandianvian style. This is basically her showing you around her apartment.

I bought this for the DIY craft projects mentioned in the description. There are no DIY craft projects in this book. There's a stencil.

There are some interesting-looking Swedish recipes on card in the back though and I like the tear-out presentation of these. I'll be trying them out. But if you want a book of (excellent) projects to make I'd buy the author's Lotta Jansdotter's Simple Sewing instead.

A nicely produced book - not much in depth info, more a visual feast and peek into the home and personal style of Lotta. Fans of her style will find an interesting history of how she set out, but anyone not familiar with her work will probably be inspired to see more of her work after seeing this. All in all a coffee table/browsing pick me up book with craft inspiration & traditional recipes from Lottas homeland, but just don't expect much text, a non essential 'treat' book for curling up with!
