4.0 out of 5 stars Lost Within The Halls Of Fame 20 Jun 2002
A Kid's Review - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Audio CD
Lost within The Halls Of Fame is an AMAZING album from the 90`s. Some re-releases of things from I Used To Be An Animal, but a lots of new things. I almost exploded first time I listened to it!
1. I Used To be An Animal from the album named the same as the song. It`s really cool with Eric as a rapper. In the end (before he just talks) it`s a little noisy.
2. When We Were a Gang is a rapidly moving song abuot how good things were When We Were A Gang
3. This version of American Dreams is really good. A really good piece of rock.
4. Rock & Roll shoes is a short song who slides over in
5. Memories Of Anna. A really, really good song.
6. New Orleans Rap is a moody song about New Orleans. Not very long.
7. I Will Be With You Again is one of the absolutely best songs on the album. It`s sad, but that doesn`t matter. It starts so nice and calm and builds up in to a wall of music.
8. Brand New Day is a little too noisy for me. One Of the albums weaker songs
9. Nightrider isn`t very good either.
10. This version of Going Back To Memphis is terrible. The albums worst song. The vocal is so weak that you almost can`t hear it.
11. Leo`s Place has also a very weak vocal, but it is very much better than Going Back To Memphis.
12. Woman`s Touch is good. Here Eric sings together with a woman (I don`t know who). Really good.
13. Is There Another World is a quiet song with beautiful guitarplay. A little minus is that you can hear that Eric isn`t so young now, and I don`t think that any fan likes to be reminded of that...
14. Don`t Shoot Me is a little too long. At least 1/3 of the song is the chours: "Don`t shoot me! I ain`t got no money. Don\ t shoot me! I`ll give you anything you wan`t I`ll give you anything you want, but don`t shoot me!"

4.0 out of 5 stars He Used To Be an Animal 23 Sep 2000
By RICK MILLER - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Audio CD
This CD released in 1995 is a rare find. Many of the tracks on this collection were recorded around 1986 during the "I used to be an animal" recordings. This CD features alternate versions and outtakes from that session, all nicely done. "Nightrider" is the best song I have heard Burdon sing in awhile. This rocker along with other tracks: "Brand New Day", Woman's Touch, Is There Another World and Don't Shoot Me" are worth the purchase alone and show that when Burdon is in the studio (which is rare now days), he is a creative genius and still one of the best and most versatile singers around. If you want a Burdon album this is one to buy.
