There appears to be the usual Amazon confusion over albums that come out in multiple editions so to make it clear this is a review of the 12 track "normal" album.
And with that in mind it is pleasing to report that this is a belter of an album, high octane pounding rock in the old style. A couple of proggy numbers like "Flower card games" and "Heart of wires" mix it up a bit without losing the energy and power that has become the band's signature. This is exemplified for me on the track "Awestruck" which starts of slow and builds to an incredible climax. Yes this has been done to death before but seldom as well as on here. The title track pays more than a nod to early U2 and is quite an interesting diversion and along with the closing track "Time and again" which to my ears could have been recorded by Wire, give your ears a respite from the pounding they have received albeit a very pleasant and energising pounding indeed.
