Product Description

East Anglia was once rich in branch lines, providing a service to ports, villages and towns. The Beeching Plan swept away many of these lines, leaving little sign that they had ever existed. Using rare archive footage, this film includes: M&GN Railway and Melton Constable, Colne Valley and Waveney Valley lines, Wisbech Tramway and March freight yards, Norwich Station's last steam train and Leighton Buzzard's early preservation.

I was born in King's Lynn, worked on the Railways there, so this DVD - like the others in the East Anglian series, are pure nostalgia for me.

I cannot fault them in any way - Brilliant!

This excellent film is produced by the East Anglian Film Archive. If you have a look at their website (Google it), you can watch a short clip from the film to help you decide whether to buy it or not.

The M&GN content on the DVD is rather brief but still of considerable interest as so little film of the Joint exists.
