Having earlier enjoyed Leslie Oppitzs 'Lost Railways of East Anglia ' I was delighted when I spotted this in my local bookshop . Living on the edge of the Chilterns , I have walked parts of the 'Nicky Line' from Harpenden to Hemel Hempstead , and have glimpsed remnants of other closed lines in the region while about my travels. I was therefore delighted with the small histories contained in this book that bought these and other abandoned lines back to life .

I should say firstly, that my 3 star rating was only due to my entering the review against the wrong book. So I would give it a 4 star rating if I could change that. This was bought as a present for my Father-in-Law who is very pleased with it.
