Taking into account the popularity of the television series and the shear talent of Giacchinos' work its amazing this soundtrack hasn't had more marketing. This CD features nearly every major piece of original score featured in the first season of Lost, highlights being Locke'd Out Again, (from Deus Ex Machina)I've Got A Plane To Catch (from Exodus Part 2) and Parting Words (from Exodus Part 1) (The latter being the only track placed outside of epsiode order being track 26 whilst the former is track 24.) Overall the albulm is brilliant when dramatic and overwhelming when its quieter themes are given time to develop (after track 8) this albulm is a definate for Lost fans and features the best score heard on television (though Battlestar gets props too.)

Lost the TV series is over.....but the memories live on with the music. I have purchased the first three Original Soundtrack albums for Lost and I have not regretted it. Perfect chill out music or for late night working. The tracks on this Album bring back all the heartache of the despair of the characters for the first deaths on the Island. Emotional, textural to the Episodes and eminently re-playable, this album is a strong recommendation to all fans of Lost.

The thing with this soundtrack is, I love the Series so much I expected to to LOVE this to the degree of the series. Obviously I dont however the soundtrack is as beautiful, shocking, loving, horrifying and expansive as the series. Admittedly the soundtrack has many songs which are fairly similar. But the first series of LOST was extremely mysterious and very vague in revealing secrets, this reflects soundtrack which sounds very mysterious and can begin to pull you away from reality and subdue you into the LOST world. Whenever I listen to this my Heart skips a beat, as I remember the parts of the series that the music reminds me off, and its beautiful, for any fan or simple music lover. THIS IS A MUST BUY...

Michael Giacchino is a fantastic composer with a flare for lavishing Abram's cleverly constructed onscreen action with licks and motifs that grip us, help us to empathise with a character, or scare us out of our seats! Giacchino is here to stay, he is already heard through our home system via many TV series and some recent Pixar films, and I am sure, is going to hit our screens big time working shoulder to shoulder with the greatest film composers of our time. If you are looking for a soundtrack that sound like it's from a hollywood film, this is the one to get!

I bought this ages ago when season 1 was still one of the best things I had ever seen but I still listen to it every now and again because Giacchino definitely has talent and has made tunes that will remind you of specific moments from the series. The fact that this is years later when I stopped watching mid to end of season 2 is pretty amazing. A pretty good soundtrack to remember season 1 by, although it seems a bit pricey. The only tv soundtrack that comes to mind that's better than this is Battlestar but that's tied for best soundtrack full stop in my mind so Lost is doing pretty well.

Full marks for the music, obviously, but I had to give a low score just to give a warning to anyone thinking of downloading this. There is some kind of glitch on track 2, The Eyeland. It repeats the opening track and then skips forward a few seconds after the real track starts. I don't know about the rest of the album but one track is bad enough. This is particularly annoying as I don't seem to be able to get it replaced in any way. My own fault. I should have just gotten the C.D.
