Well, first of all let me say that I am not a die hard fan of hardcore music, I was introduced to this album by a friend and it took me a few times through to get really tuned in to the musicality of the album because the aggressiveness of the vocalist sometimes tends to overshadow what the instruments are doing if you are not accustomed to hardcore music.
That being said, this album explores in depth serious social issues and touches on a variety of themes which many in this world pass through during their lives. Sacrifice, loss, racism, and the unfairness of life and how society is set up run through the album, and once you read the lyrics and take a minute to think about them, you understand the artists passion for the message. It took a thorough reading of the words, and some time to really ponder them to "get" why Derek, the vocalist, was straining to be heard. Once the message was clear this album went into serious rotation in my car and on my IPOD. A very mature production, from a genre not putting out very much that is on this level, in my opinion.
