I think this new series is going to be a hit with girls of around 9-11 years old. It's fast paced and has clear characters you want to find out more about. And most importantly it's full of genuine information about fortune telling (it's obvious the author, Dotti Enderle, knows what she is talking about).
Three young girls have formed a fortune telling club but this isn't a mystical, other worldly tale. It's firmly based in 21st century American culture and all the better for it. There is a definite air of realism to the mystery and in fact it starts off with fortune telling being used to track down the mundane - a lost retainer (a sort of dental brace thing). But don't worry, that's just the start of something more sinister...
