A Kid's Review - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
This story was about two girls who are sisters: Darcy Wills, who is in highschool, and Jamee Wills, who is in middleschool. They live with their mom, who always works, and their grandmother, who had a stroke last year.
Jamee has a boyfriend named Bobby, who is in highschool. Bobby talks about Jamee behind her back to his friends. Jamee starts to act weird, and steals CDS for Bobby.
Jamee doesn't like her grandmother anymore; because of the stroke the grandmother has been acting differently. She will think that either she is the child and her mom is there, or think that Darcy and Jamee are Mattie, which is their mom or thr grandmom's daughter, and Charlotte, which is their aunt or Mattie's sister. Jamee ends up running away because of Darcy yelling at her for going out with Bobby. Someone also comes back in her life who makes her runaway also.
In this story I felt I could relate to Darcy the most. She is just looking out for her sister. I can relate because I care and look out for my sister.
I really liked this book. My favorite part of the book was when Darcy reunited with the person at the end. I know it felt good to see that person. My least favorite part of the book was the way Bobby treated Jamee. Nobody deserves to be treated like that. If I could change something in this book I wouldn't.
I would recommend this book to alot of people who like to read a book and not put it down.

3.0 out of 5 stars Lost and Found-Bulford Series 9 Mar 2007
By Alicia Bryan - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
Darcy wills is a normal kid in high school, she is very bright and doesn't have a lot of friends. Her best friend is supposed to be Brisana Meeks, but she doesn't really act like one. Darcy starts to realize that not all the kids at Bluford High School are all bad, and she starts to make more friends. Tarah, Cooper, and Hakeem. They all become very close and Darcy likes this. Darcy also has a younger sister and is always worried about her because she hangs out with the wrong kids and is getting bad grades in school. Darcy has to be the one looking out for her because her mom is always so tired from working, because she is a nurse and does the night shift. One day Jamee, Darcy's younger sister, comes home and is all beaten up, she has a black eye and bruises all over her body. Darcy starts to worry even more. Darcy thought it was the boy Jamee had been seeing. Well and if that's not enough for Darcy to handle lets add in that her dad that had left her family five years ago shows up. Darcy thought it was some guy trying to kidnap her and she calls the police. Then just when you think everything is going to get better the most unlikely thing happens, Jamee runs away! Darcy and her new friends set out and try to find her, when Darcy begins to give up on all hope she calls her dad. Darcy's dad shows up and said they left one spot out, the mountain they use to go to when they were all a family. So they hurry up there and start calling her name, then all of a sudden her dad stops....he stops by the tree that he named Jamee princes of the forest under the last time they went hiking before their dad left. So in the end Jamee is ok and Darcy has new friends, their dad is trying so hard to come back in their lives and all is good.

4.0 out of 5 stars Notes from a teacher 12 Oct 2006
By Amanda D. Steadele - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
This series is a great series to use in the middle school/high school classroom. For the first time my students were actively engaged. They couldn't wait until the next time and they even asked to read longer. Darcy and her friends are characters that explore race, relationships, single parenthood, and many other aspects of life. It was great to find books that my minority students could really relate to.
