4.0 out of 5 stars CD Recording a great feature 28 Dec 2006
Not mentioned in the product details is the addition of a CD recording of nearly all the poems, which makes this much more accessible. Papadopoulos has a wonderful reading voice. I especially like the first three poems. In the first two the reality of an old Greek living in Athens is explored, while the third, the title poem, is an autobiographical sketch of childhood memories in Athens. The rest of the poetry reflects the author's mixed cultural heritage with many sketches from America, where he grew up. Brief narratives that are well-crafted, in language that is strong, vivid and sonorous.
