Product Description

Lady Catherine Meyer, Lost Children - A Guide For Separating Parents, May 2000

"Although our circumstances were different, we have both been forcibly separated from our children and seen them turned against us. We have both travlled through the same path of despair. We have both shared the same feelings o\ f helplessness and injustice. We have both tried endlessly to search for a meaning to our tragedy. We have both spent our days and our nights worrying about our children's future. This book is the result of a family tragedy. It relates the suffering of a mother who could never retrieve the love of her children after they were led to believe that she had abandoned them. This is an eloquent and compelling book. It is a must for couples with children. It is an insight into the worst that can happen, and how to avoid it. It is also a well-researched guide to the long-term effects of parental alienation and its devastating effects on children."

Book Description

Advice on preparing your partner before you leave; Preparing and protecting your children; Preventing emotional abuse; Guarding against revenge; Protecting children's lifetime relationships; Parental Alienation Syndrome; Advice for parents thinking of separating BEFORE they split up. Splitting up a family, regardless of whether parents are married or living together in a long-term relationship, leaves innocent, vulnerable children robbed of security and potentially scarred for life. This book will make you aware of some of the dangers and help parents think about ways in which they can lessen the emotional damage to children.

One way in which both parents can do this is to actively and positively encourage children to preserve relationships with all the important adults in their family. Are you as a parent prepared to put aside your own animosity or grief and be genuinely prepared to do so?

The death of a family is a real bereavement. Be warned but above all be prepared.

A sad insight into the effects of Parental Alienation and the complete inadequacy of a legal system which is supposed to be 'child centred'. This book should be made available to every parent in an attempt to prevent the heartache and misery caused to children and their absent parents - surely a breach of their human rights. It is also sad that domestic abuse appears to have been ignored by the authorities in so many cases. Questions have got to be asked of the judicial system and better solutions are required. It would appear to me that the only winners are the lawyers - a heartbreaking indictment of our society. Congratulations to Penny Cross on a well researched book which does offer an alternative to heartache and misery.

I'm a dad and I'm crying, but at least I now know that there are others like me.

I just want to love my child. I hope Pennys book will be 'forced' reading for court welfare officers and all their like.

Penny Cross has lost her entire world and has been through hell in the process. I hope this book is read by many parents and all officials in the legal system. Something is very wrong if this is allowed to happen.
