not a great ending to the 3 films. Watchable esp if you loved the first one as some inside jokes

In an interview after The Tribe Feldman said he had taken the criticism on board, and as producer he would address all of it. well, it seems he actually DID.
Don't get me wrong, this is still a low budget terribly badly acted DVD movie, but this time they've done a lot of stuff right. It is much better than The Tribe, but it does have some vital ingredients missing causing it to end up being similar in style to John carpenters vampires.

Many people will be pleased to know that there's no "XTREAM" "with it" "youtube generation" surfing vampires. The vampires here are properly updated for today, but unfortunately you don't get to see much of them, even in THE TRIBE we had a chance to meet some of the gang and they came across as mildly threatening, in this movie they pretty much keep to themselves.

Most of the plot revolves around Edgar Frog, his warped childlike obsession with vampire hunting, it occasionally brushes up on the emotional losses of Edgar's friends and there is also a bit of time used to unravel the twisted mess The Tribe left the series in. While the storyline has much more substance than the predecessor it still leaves a lot to be desired, many of the new additions are under written and could have been flesh out a bit more. They did at least try this time, there's a plot twist, which, due to casting was a bit disappointing and one which you can see coming as soon as we're given the pieces to put it together, I was happy to take any kind of plot twist over what the tribe gave us. Overall the movie gets kind of slow in parts, mostly in the first half; The pacing balance isn't as good as it could have been, it lingers on some uninteresting scenes too long, while others, that could have used some suspense, go by a little too quickly.

I loved the first film when it came out and the tribe lived up to it. Loved the film and will watch it over and over.

5.0 out of 5 stars I enjoyed this movie,give it a chance 11 Oct 2011

I was reading some of the reviews & I am so glad I thought nope I will buy it anyway.Have a look at the trailer on You Tube as I feel the problem is that some are expecting the huge budget type stuff Lost Boys had on a made for direct to DVD market.
The Frog Brothers coming back is good but if you look at this as a stand alone then it will work better & ironically the character of Sam Emmerson played so well by Corey Haim in the first Lost Boys being dead actually occurred to Corey Haim himself whilst this was being done.
I read alot about the Rave Sequence but this is a really tiny section of a whole movie & the character X looks nothing like Deacon Frost as 1 reviewer said.
Give it a chance & judge for yourself as this is way better than the mass majority of crap out there at the moment.

If you love the first lost boys then you will hate this. They should have left it at the second film.

The decision to shoot the film in South Africa was clearly beneficial. The whole look of the film, the quality of the special effects - especially the plane jump sequence and the plethora of vampire kills are visually great!

I have to say I was excited when I first heard that Dario Piana was drafted to direct this installment as I knew he was capable of delivering something great [going by what I'd witnessed in The Deaths of Ian Stone]. He didn't disappoint. The storyline and characters were handled much better this time around, much more likable - Edgar's companions in particular.

When it comes to Corey Feldman and Jamison Newlander, they never fail to deliver! They really do own those roles and I wouldn't want to see anyone other than them stepping into those shoes.

Overall, the film was definitely a step in the right direction. It's not a masterpiece by any means and we all know that the first film is an extremely tough act to follow. This much is for sure, they did a great job with the resources that they had and I'll be happy to place the film side by side with the original.
