A simply wonderful collection 29 Jan 2009
By Gordon E. Peterson II - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Audio CD
This is a simply wonderful collection. More than half of the songs on it are just EXCELLENT... and "The Job Application" and (especially) "Who Gave You Permission" will send shivers down your spine, they are SO incredible. The production values are SUPERB, the vocal performances are ABSOLUTELY Broadway-quality. It's a tragedy that these songs were cut from the shows involved, but it's a DELIGHT that we have them saved here!

My favorites from the disc are (in track order): Thirty Weeks of Heaven, Marking Time, The Job Application, Gimme a Rain Check, A Little Dental Music, Who Gave You Permission (FABULOUS!!!), Noah, Bad, Evening Star, Suddenly There's You, If I Can't Take It With Me... there are "Best of Broadway" compilations with less great music on them than this disc. HIGHLY recommended. If you like Broadway show music, BUY THIS! You won't regret it for a minute. This is going to be one of your all-time favorite discs.

The songs "The Job Application" and "Who Gave You Permission" are all by themselves worth the price of this disc...!

Finally - the entire collection! 25 July 2010
By Kenneth - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Audio CD|Amazon Verified Purchase
I've had CDs I through III for years but, somehow, managed to miss IV when it was "in the stores". As a matter of fact, I missed it by so much that when I went to purchase it, it was long out of print!

I'm glad I finally found it on Amazon, though -- it's another fine collection of the songs that got away -- Broadway hits that might have been but never were.

I like to think of it as "archaeology of musical theatre."

Love these... 24 April 2012

Great fun! It's fun to listen to the songs, then try to figure out where in the show they were cut from.
