I wish that I had discovered this group earlier. Sound is totally American and not unlike Dion & the Belmonts. Very Good

They are the real deal! 11 May 2013

This group of guys are a truly exquisite doo wop era band from the Jersey shore right out of 1958 ... and yet, they are bunch of British guys who cut this CD recently.

It is an utterly outstanding piece of music. These guys are polished with wonderful voices and perfect sense of harmony. But even better than that, they capture that era perfectly. It is very obvious that the love this kind of music and you can hear it in their voices. They are Dion, Phil and Mystics, the Del Vikings, the Diamonds, and all the rest rolled up into one. In fact in "Echoes of the Past" is a tribute to many of these guys. Let me just say that these guys are so good that, given decent exposure, they could revive this who genre. That would be good too, because I wasn't even born the last time around.

I won't say every track on the CD is a gem, but many really are. This is as strong a CD as many of the multi-artist doo wop CD's. It is always hard to impute your taste onto others, but, if you like this genre of late 50's early 60's street corner, you be hard put to do any better than these guys. They are that good.

If I had to pick a couple of highlights it would be "Echoes of the Past" which is a very obvious labor of love dedicated to many of their influences and "He's Got You". I don't review many products, this one is worth a review. It's outstanding. Too bad they are UK.

Wonderful re-creation of the "Brooklyn" sound 18 Nov 2011

I thought when I ordered this, it was the "original" Roomates of early 1960's fame. I read the liner notes and was wondering who heck was this group? This group is utterly fantastic in recreating the sound of the doo-wop/teen sound of the era. Almost every cut enchants me on my commute to and from work at my miserable place of employment. I look forward to getting in the car and going to work! Sample these cuts on Amazon and see for yourself. Worth every penny.
