I found 'Empathy Test' purely by chance, and about 2 seconds after listening to the track samples, I'd purchased and downloaded the full EP.

If you are a fan of Synth Pop music from any era, then this EP will be an essential addition to your collection.
The bands mission statement appears to be: "Write the most infectious tunes possible", and with this release, it's clear that they have achieved this with ease.
There are no weak tracks here, and each one is packed with lush synth. sweeps, corking arpeggio sections, classic synth. basslines and fantastic choruses.
My personal favourite is 'Kirrilee'. An amazing song that seems to have taken up permanent residence in my head.

This is the bands debut release, so if this is the quality of their song writing at this stage of their career, Empathy Test could shape to be a seriously awesome band.
Can't wait to hear what they do next.

That's my review, now please buy their EP. You won't be disappointed.

I found this band doing a killer, sumptuous cover of Goyte's modern classic "somebody I used to know", and the great thing about the E.P they've just delivered is that their own songwriting skills are more than a match for deBacker and Kimbra! The best first reason for buying this mini-album is the awesome melancholic musical shiver of "losing touch", and the second is the consistently powerful and haunted vocals of singer Isaac Howlett..."Kirrilee" invokes a more abstract, experimental edge to their electro sound, but the depth and immediacy of their catchy, blinding-good hooks never gets lost in the mix. It's a superb collection of work, and for such a small price, it seems obscene not to be an immediate investor in a a band that should be dotting the festival landscape soon, either this Summer or by 2015.
