Biography

Biography by Jason Ankeny

At their peak in the 1970s, Cheech & Chong represented the mainstream embodiment of the attitudes and lifestyles of the underground drug culture. Much as W.C. Fields shot to fame by making alcohol the focus of his act, the duo of Cheech Marin and Tommy Chong emerged from a cloud of pot smoke, simultaneously championing and lampooning the stoner community ... 5.0 out of 5 stars brilliantly funny 15 Sep 2008
By Vimes
Format:Audio CD|Verified Purchase
my brother had this lp in the 70's and I recorded it in the 80's but lost the tape over time.
I was very pleased to see this available on cd so I ended up buying 2 copies.
one for me and one for a mate - we used to listen to it quite a bit and he was thrilled to get it as a gift.

the cd itself has the guys on top form and some of the funniest sketches they did are right here.
Up His Nose and Pedro and Man at the Drive-Inn are superb from start to finish.

5.0 out of 5 stars A comedy classic 28 May 2000
By Jeffrey Harris - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Audio CD
One of best comedy records ever made, some of Cheech and Chong's best routines are here. Including "Pedro And The Man At The Drive-In", where they try to sneak a bunch of friends into the drive-in by staching them in the trunk and then not being able to get them out, this bit also features the hilarious pirate movie spoof where a crew member gets punished for buggering another shipmate. The classic "Basketball Jones" is also on this album. One of C&C's best albums(and a Grammy winner too! ). This one still makes me laugh out loud.

5.0 out of 5 stars Classic Pot Head Humor by the Masters 20 Aug 1998
By nsf@cybergal.com - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Audio CD
This album has a lot of very cool Cheech & Chong routines on it. They are classics of the genre, and much funnier than some of the stuff that shows up in their films.
My sister had it when she was in High School, and I used to borrow it. The vinyl album had a great pull out sleeve that showed all the hidden drugs in compartments in the VW Bug on the cover.
I recommend it to anyone who enjoys this kind of humor, wants a blast from the past (70s style), or just wants to check out Cheech Marin before he went 'respectable' and straight (drug-wise). I can't wait to listen to it again, this time on CD.

5.0 out of 5 stars Hey man, what's happinin, man! 19 Dec 2008
By James E. Lane - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Audio CD
Bought this on the same day we bought Pink Floyd's Dark Side Of The Moon.
A total classic, don't know how we ever got through school without it.
Lots of reviews here so no reason to add another. Just a personal touch.
No comedy collection can be without this, or the other two that came before this.
Listen to this alongside Alice Coopers, School's Out. You'll understand what we went through to get through school in the 70's.

5.0 out of 5 stars Let's talk about your record 19 Sep 2000

I enjoy listening to the comedy routines on this CD. My favourite tracks features the great basketball player Tyrone Shoelaces, who does everything but sell popcorn during half-time. I love BASKETBALL JONES so much I am like a junkie. The song is like a song to me. ;D If you enjoy a good laugh, you will enjoy this CD.
