This is a shortish book by Andrew Murray. Those of you that know him will know that his writings are somewhat dated in language but always excellent. This is no exception. A very clear "instruction" manual, and the title says it all. You will finish the book all the better equipt for what to my mind is the most important Christian task of prayer.

Simple, but profound, Lesson in Prayer 19 Sep 2011
By drhoke - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Kindle Edition
Of all the classics on prayer, none is more helpful than this brief work. Murray never hammers, but entreats, then lovingly explains how to do what he is advocating. You will be helped more than challenged, and given a taste of what waits for you in his "With Christ in the School of Prayer"

Excellent!!! 2 Jan 2012

Andrew Murray was always known for his great work "Absolute Surrender", however, this work is none other than a classic, simple, straight forward, and he actually did what he set out to do, which was to help the reader pray. He left out the academics,and hermeneutics, that could have easily doubled the size of the book, confounded the reader, and had him to miss his point. He wrote succinctly, but shared a lot of depth that came from years of praying. I was ready to put my Kindle down and pray!

Great short work on prayer 31 Dec 2011
By listener - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Kindle Edition
I just got done reading this on my Kindle. Do not think of it as an exhaustive work on prayer but rather a short work of about 50 pages that looks at some of the things Jesus says about prayer. Murray is very readable considering when this was written. Worth reading. Free!

Jesus never taught His disciples how to preach, only how to pray. He did not speak much of what was needed to preach well, but much of praying well. To know how to speak to God is more than knowing how to speak to man. Not power with men, but power with God is the first thing. "e;

And so one of our first lessons in the school of prayer must be to understand what it is to pray in spirit and in truth, and to know how we can attain to it. "e;
