You can never have enough Whimsey in your life 15 Mar 2012
By K. Frick - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Hardcover
There are certain characters you can't bear to bid farewell. Although Dorothy Sayers has been for many years, her prime creation -- Lord Peter Whimsey -- continues to delight. In this volume the reader can savour all those little bits of Whimsey that are not in the independent volumes. As a writer Sayers wrote with wit and with style. Her use of language alone would make these stories worth reading. She never writes down to her reader but assumes that they will be intelligent and eager for characters who are multi-dimensional. The final story in the collection features Lord Peter in his role as pater familas. The reader is left wishing that we could see the family as the sons grow older.
