I loved this book. The main conflict is heartwrenching and realistic, respectfully rooted in the times. Beverley uses the language with a pleasing, subtle grace that lends a sense of beauty and a shiver of sensuality to every scene.

It took me a little while to get into this book, but once I did, I was hooked. The sexual tension between these two by the end of the book is incredible, but even better is how they grow to have a genuine regard for each other against all odds. Thanks, Jo Beverley for a good read.

The characters are easier to relate to. Renald is everything you look for in a man. He is intelligent, strong, witty,passionate and most of all patient! Claire is everything you want to be as a woman. They were meant for each other! I loved it!
