Having a great interest in the works and lives of George and Joy Adamson I was very keen to obtain this film even though it was only available on video. Also there is the wonderful bonus of seeing film clips of the real Elsa the lioness and a few glimpses of her cubs when they were very young. George was as articulate and humorous as ever in his interviews and the filming around his camp at Kora clearly shows the harsh conditions in which he lived. I feel that George was missing the company of his brother Terence who had died a couple of years before. Also what makes this film all the more poignant is that only months later George was murdered. He was a great man and I don't think there will ever be anyone else like him.
