"Thompson's well-crafted prose brilliantly captures life - and sex. Sure to satisfy!" - Romantic Times on Lord of the Deep"

Product Description

Pagan revelers dance naked to the music of flute and lyre, their bodies golden in the firelight, inviting the lord of their deepest desires to appear from the shadows. Marius soon comes, his tall, muscular body changing in the dark of the moon - is he man or animal? Or the best of both? Only Linnea, the beautiful goddess of the hunt, shall see his true self. His ultimate transformation will ensnare her - and his matchless erotic skill will ensure her amorous surrender. Retreating to a hidden bower of pleasure, they are at last alone. And Marius brings her to the heights of sexual ecstasy...again and again and again...

Sometimes I wasn't sure if this book was about Marius or Vane 2 Jan 2009
By Sabrina in VA - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
Although this book is titled "Lord of the Forest", I sometimes wondered if it shouldn't have been Lords of the Forest & Flame, as Vane, Lord of Fire/Lava, was in this book a LOT.

While Marius' story was quite good, and the supporting characters we're introduced to (Querky & Esau), were great, it didn't engage me quite as much as Gideon's (Lord of the Dark) story. I haven't had a chance to pick up Lord of the Deep/Simeon's book, so I can't speak of it.

Ironically, this book made me want to chuck it, and move onto Vane's story. As the author is dead, I hope it will still appear.

Deception and Profit 27 Jan 2009
By Abigail - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
This latest installment of Dawn Thompson's Elemental series is a complete departure from Lord of the Deep and Lord of the Dark. The character persona's have changed drastically. Character physical descriptions have changed significantly also. The history behind Marius' curse is explained twice with two different stories that do not reconcile. There are surprising typos that one could not easily correct if he or she did not have the two previous texts. The number of pages is incorrect. Usually Thompson's installment is 320 pages per book, this, however is 222 pages.

I DO NOT believe Thompson completed this text and the publishers simply wished to gain a profit from what little materials she may have begun before her passing. I think this text is a fabrication that disrespects the literary history of Ms. Thompson. Yes, she wrote explicit material with heavy mythological influence, BUT SHE DID IT WELL! Whoever completed and/or edited this text should have at least read the first two in the series. All I can say is incredible, I am in disbelief of such shoddy work!

almost not worth it 5 Oct 2010

the beginning was good but toward the end it was if the author ran out of ideas and just kinda mashed thoughts together in order to just end it.
