Looking for a video camera for recording musically. Help?!

Okay so a friend and I have just started recording and uploading our selves playing our music onto YouTube. The capture and sound quality is relatively decent on the current camera I am using. However the current camera is not a video camera. It has motion picture function however it's real purpose is photography. I'm looking to get a video camera that has good quality capture and preferably good audio capture. If anybody has any recommendations then that would be great. I'm also not in a strong position financially right now but obviously if I find a good camera I can work towards having the money to buy it. One last thing is, how do people synchronize a recording with footage from a video camera but they have recorded the audio through a separate microphone? Anybody know? Thanks in advance for any help.
