I was given this book as a gift by the author, who's a friend of mine. I'm not usually a big crime or thriller fan, but this book hooked me from the first sentence and didn't let go till the last full stop - I know the fact that I know the author must compromise my detached stance a bit, but I'm happy to say I don't have to make things up about 'Looking For Mr Nobody': it really is an enthralling read and if I didn't know, I wouldn't have guessed it was her first book. The writing is faultless - I hate it when you can spot a writer trying to be clever, or consciously writing in a particular style, but Sue doesn't do this at all, whether you're with Robin, the heroine (she rocks! what more can I say?) or Wolf, the charmingly shambly (and sexily helpless, fwwooarr!!) vagrant hero, you're just happy to be along for the ride. Sue Rann takes your hand on page 1 and says 'trust me': she never betrays that writer-reader trust all the way through, and I think that's one of the best things about this book. Buy it and read it, you'll love it! Buy it for all your family and friends, they'll love it too! Happy Hal :-)
