Babara Brown's eloquent prose is like a colorful tapesty weaving the reader into an inner landscape of deep insight, romance, heartbreak and humour. She blends intrigue with wit, sadness with integrity and letting go of attachments without guilt. You'll want more of Ellie Rose as you enter her inner sanctum.

I love a novel that takes me out of my everyday life, and becomes a page-turner because I want to know what happens to characters that I have come to care about. This book does that. It also does much more. The main character is on a year away from work. While sorting out how to respond to her lover, what to do about the woman across the hall, and how to relate to her long-term best friend, she has taken this year out to dis-cover who she is underneath the surface of her personality.
The texture of peoples' lives and interactions portrayed here, shows that the author, herself, has been on this journey for some time. This book courageously and lightly deals with sexuality and spirituality, life and death. A must for every woman seeking her deepest truest nature.

Truly superb writing, great style, a flair with words, beautifully rich descriptions of the inner and outer world, this is not the sort of book I usually read but I was engaged throughout and couldn't put it down, and the ending (don't peek!) brought a sense of jubilation...
