Collected by Tony Bradman and with illustrations by Michael Broad, this is a collection of 53 poems all set in schools and loosely based on the passing of the school year.
The poems are mostly humorous, with some good rhymes and naughtiness that children will enjoy. Particularly good were the witty `Teachers' Awards' by Brian Moses and the sadder `Playtime' by Roger Hurn, which will resonate with anyone who's been left alone in the playground.
There is a bit of an old-fashioned feel to some of the poems and even though the collection was published in 2005, I'd question how much children will identify with some of it. Even so, it's a good way of getting children interested in poetry and verse and so worth a look.
