Product Description

This is a lighthearted, pop culture photography book collecting images spiritual figures - Jesus, the Virgin Mary, the Pope, Buddha - as they have been revealed to believers in toast, woodgrain, campfires, watermarks, circuitboards, tortillas, and other everyday objects from around the world, many of which were featured in local/national /international news coverage(!). From Cheesus (Jesus in the form of a Cheeto) to the Nun Bun (Mother Theresa's likeness on a cinnamon roll) to more serene images of the Virgin Mary in tree bark or agate, the author has compiled an amazing and delightful look at the worldwide phenomenon of finding the holy in the mundane.

Jesus on Toast 21 Dec 2010

Format:Paperback
I likes this book, some of the images were a little hard to work out but it was just a bit of fun. I gave this gift to a Vicar and he liked it a lot.

Fun Read! 24 Mar 2010
By H. Coon - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
When I heard about this book I pre-ordered it from the publisher. I am glad I did. It is a pictorial journey of the extremes our culture goes to find the teacher and prophet born in Bethlehem and active in Nazareth (and his mom and a few others from the Good Book).

The book is sincere and well documented as to the source of the images. Now whether or not they are as miraculous as the various pieces of chicken, paper towels, rocks and grilled cheese sandwiches in which the messiah appears... the authors wisely leave that to the belief of the reader.

Very amusing 26 Feb 2010
By R. Rockwell - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback|Amazon Verified Purchase
I must thank Entertainment Weekly for recommending this very amusing collection of well done photos submitted by contributors of photos of Jesus and the Virgin Mary. My two favorites are the cover with Jesus in a slice of toast and the "Nunbun" containing the face of mother Theresa. They also provide a short description of each photo. Whether you believe in God or not, there is something for everyone. Highly recommended.
