3.0 out of 5 stars Handy 27 July 2009
Verified Purchase
As per the previous reviewer, I got this because I've only wooden floors and nothing to practise putting on. Its not too bad but does lose its challenge before too long. I've not played since I bought it so can't say if its made any difference.

For anyone considering buying it, it consists of the green mat glued to a vac-formed plastic section. The ball return is by gravity, so it doesn't actually roll all the way back to you as it would with a mechanical return. (On the upside there are no batteries!) The ball falls into the chute no matter whether you put it in the hole, the bunker or the lake. And if your shot is slightly too hard it will pass the hole by.

On my one, the mat was slightly misaligned so the ball always got caught in the chute. Some judicious trimming with a knife was required but its fine now.

Overall, fine for what it is. My kids love mine as well but I doubt it'll make any of us tour pro's. Its main value may well be in encouraging me to pick up the putter several evenings a week.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good but green not long enough to be challenging 28 May 2009
By Pelzo
This is quite fun for a short period of time. However, the green is not long enough for it to be truly challenging. If you have carpet in your house I'd practice putting into a cup / glass. If like me you only have hard wood floors this is a good option. I tend to get it out and practice a few putts each evening on the run up to a round of golf and it certainly helps.

2.0 out of 5 stars A bit too easy 18 May 2013
Verified Purchase
Maybe I'm a great putter (I'm not) but I can find the hole on this 19 times out of 20. It could be more of a challenge. It's also quite flimsy so I'm not sure how long it will last. Fun for 20 mins though.

3.0 out of 5 stars Putting Hazard is the correct description 6 Sep 2010
Overall the idea is fine and sound. The felt mat could ideally be longer for the consummate professional. Also it would be nice if there were some alignment tools/lines printed on the felt. The mat likes to roll-up and could have some weight at the opposite end to the hole. The ball self-retrieval system is very basic and unreliable.

For the low price i paid - seems fine - but so many ways it could obviously be made better and a good training aid. I still use it regularly but would like longer putting option and have added alignment aids using marking tape myself.

4.0 out of 5 stars Simple and effective 13 Aug 2009

A nice little thing that will help your putting from inside 6 feet. As is mentioned by other reviewers, it isn't the most challenging thing in the world but it might help remove some of those short misses that plague normal golfers rounds.

It looked a bit cheaper than I expected, the base is made from thin plastic, but it didn't cost much so I can't complain. Read more
