I have 20 of these balls... yes, 20.
Of them only 1 didn't work very well. Stuttered a bit at first but soon decided to stop entirely. I don't mind though as that's the one I'm going to chop in half as I'm dying to find out what they're like inside.
The other 19 are fine. I've test dropped them and all's well. I'm using the first one already and I do get in that extra hole or two when everyone else has given up.
Admittedly the distance is not quite as good, but you'll still get a respectable shot out of them, and it's a bit of fun!
I really enjoy watching it flash away in the sky as it's on it's way to target. What I don't do is take big risks. The driver stays in the bag, and I use a 3 wood or Hybrid off the tee. I might lose 20 or 30 yards, but like I say, that's a bit of fun I'm having that no one else is getting. I really can't ask for more.
Hopefully I'll never need the other 18 balls, but I did buy some as Xmas gifts anyway, so a dozen are already spoken for.
In summary, yes you may be unlucky and get a duff one, but they're actually not that expensive compared to a premium price ball and they really come into their own at twilight.
Oh, and if it bothers you to putt a flashing ball then don't!... put it away and use another. It may be "against the rules", but it's not a crime!
