Product Description

Product Description

Features contributions from Joe Walsh (The Eagles), Nicky Hopkins (Jeff Beck Group)Ian Wallace (Bob Dylan & King Crimson) and Chrissie Stewart (Frankie Miller's Full House).

Co-writers on the album are Will Jennings (Tears In Heaven, Theme From Titanic, Up Where We Belong), Scott English, Bob Young, Graham Lyle, Billy Livsey and Jerry Lynn Williams.

Two numbers, "You're The Star" and "Over The Line" have already been international hits for other artists, the former a 1995 hit single for Rod Stewart, the latter the title track for the smash hit album from The Bellamy Brothers.

Two cover versions, "He'll Have To Go" the Jim Reeves standard and "The Rose" as made famous by Bette Midler in the film of the same name.

About the Artist

Music fans should need no introduction to Frankie Miller, the man described by Rod Stewart as, "the greatest white singer ever", but for the uninitiated, here’s a brief synopsis:

Frankie recorded nine chart albums for the Chrysalis and Mercury labels between 1972 - 1986 which yielded between them the hit singles, ‘Be Good To Yourself’ and ‘Darlin’ ‘. He is one of the legends of the British music scene, with a powerful voice that has drawn numerous comparisons. His distinctive voice and song writing ability have earned him the respect of his peers and that is reflected in the number of world renowned artists, including Rod Stewart, Joe Cocker, Etta James, Cher, The Bellamy Brothers, Johnny Cash, Delbert McClinton, Bob Seger and Ray Charles, who have covered his songs.

5.0 out of 5 stars Frankie says.... 9 April 2006
By V-Lee
Format:Audio CD
The king of the shouters is back! A well respected composer, great rhythm'n'blues singer and icon to all blue eyed soul lovers makes his way back to his recording career. Hopefully these tracks - which were all recorded between 1991 and 1997 - will not be the last to be released by the uncomparable scottish singer. His talent was always undoubted, but besides his two hits ('Darlin' and 'Be good to yourself') he never earned the attention he deserves. This record is great and it brings out the best incarnations of Frankie's longtime career, which was so rudely interrupted by his long-time illness in the early ninties. It's sad that his voice suffered from his fatal sickness (which can be heard on the track 'Lies tells the best truth of all' recorded in 1997), but the quality of songwriting (see same song) is still intact, and maybe became better over this hard period of recovering. Chances are small to see him live again, but what remains is the fact, that this man has recorded a record (Falling in love) for which Rod Stewart would have given his left arm, I think. So give your respect to one of UK's greatest musician and buy this record; All hail to the king!!!

4.0 out of 5 stars Uplifting 7 April 2006
Format:Audio CD
Not being sure what to expect, I was blown away. What a voice, must be one of the best all time blues singers and certainly rips into these numbers. The backing is slick and smooth as you would expect and my only downer was that some songs began to sound the same, but "the voice" carried them off and up, up and away. All round a great experience - now I need to backtrack on Frankie's back catalogue for more gems.
