Having read Mackle's first novel Mr Right for the night, I was keen to get my hands on her latest offering for my summer hol's, and So Long Mr Wrong did not disapoint!
Laced with juicy character's such as nasty Richard and anoying Nena, Marisa manages to weave a plot around the most unlikly group of people to be hanging out together, then she throws them in the most glamourous of locations, Marbella, and waits for all hell to break loose- Brillant!
Using a million pound villa as the prize bate, Mackle lures her characters into her hilarous plot, where seven soposedly loved up couples are all competing for the price of the villa in a reality t.v show, called The Happiest Couple in Ireland!
Needless to say, the motly crew are the most dysfunctual group you could meet and are anything but in love with their spouses. But as the veiwing public has the power to vote them out, mock kisses and fake concern reign when the camera's role!
The heroine of the book, the lovely Caroline finds herself in this mess of a tv show when she signed up with her then fiancee- evil Richard to compete for the prize. But Richard had his wicked way with Caroline's best friend, Sandra on his Stag night, leaving her pregnant, and for legal reasons Caroline canot back out out of competeing in the show, dispite the fact she'd rather strangle Richard then kiss him. Throw in the rest of the couples and you've got the most intrigueing and hillarous plot I have read in a long time.
A funny read which will keep you guessing until the last page.
