Julie Welch at the age of 48 doesn't think she has lead her life to it's full potental. Despite the fact that she has raised three children, never starved, and was one of the first female football reporters, she notes that she never carries thing through. But one day she does something amazing - she rides from London to Paris - despite not owning a bike the week before - 320 MILES in 4 days (as a cyclist myself, that is pretty impressive) A chain of events follows, and Julie tells her story in round about style. No she doesn't change the world - but she changes herself just a little bit. I liked the fact that she doesn't come up with some great reason why she likes running or long distance walking - she justs knows she likes it , and she likes herself better when she does it. A book that proves everyone has a story to tell, and she does it so well. She has laid back, conversational style that makes you think you are listening to your best friend over a cup of coffee. Not ashamed to love the good things in life, Julie Welch will not convert you to long distance walking or cross country running, but you will love her story none the less.
