4.0 out of 5 stars Really useful guide 18 Nov 2012
By BonBon
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
My boyfriend and I are moving to Singapore from London and we used this guide a lot - more for useful information rather than dictating what we did and where we go. It is a honest and interesting read. I enjoyed it and would recommend it to anyone visiting or moving to Singapore.

4.0 out of 5 stars Singapore as I had not seen it before 8 Nov 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Lots of info about the usual visitor attractions, but this time I was able to visit some that are not obvious.

Changi jail museum was a sight to behold, and the second war cemetary at the north west of the island.

Hired a limo for the day and saw a "locals" perspective of the island ( at a very good negotiated rate), incorporating some items out of the book that I know I would have missed.

I have heard many times that you can see Singapore in three days. I was there two weeks and am know that I can fill up another visit from items still not seen, from items of interest found in the book. The recommended restaurants I tried were well worthwhile.

1.0 out of 5 stars Incomplete and inaccurate 19 April 2014
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
I've always regarded Lonely Planet as the benchmark travel guidebook, so it was with no hesitation that I purchased this guide to update my old 1999 vintage combined Malaysia & Singapore guide. Unfortunately, within 24 hrs of arriving in Singapore I had come to the view that the information contained in the guide was sufficiently flawed and incomplete that I would be better off without it. No information is better than unreliable information, I figured. So this Singapore guide found itself in a recycling bin in Sentosa. My wife (who lived in Singapore when we met) protested briefly that we could get a few quid back by selling the guide on eBay, but the recycling bin won.
