Great book to take to Florence. Small enough to fit into bag. Very useful information. The map is a bonus. Well laid out with ideas to do in a day or longer if required.

3.0 out of 5 stars Great guides - but not ideal for kindle 29 May 2014
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I bought this is a more portable version to take on a recent trip, and in fact went back to my hard back full Lonely Planet guide, as even with bookmarks, using kindle for a reference book is hard work.

Shame - in principle it was a good idea.

2.0 out of 5 stars Outdated 2 July 2014

The authors rave about the artisanal shops in Oltrarno. All we saw were drab storefronts with horrifically expensive wares. The "handmade" shoes were ugly, and there were much better deals near the Central Market. It doesn't seem as if the information has been updated recently. I saw a copy of the Rick Steve guide at a book store near the Academy-- even with a quick perusal, I found more useful information.
5.0 out of 5 stars Take time to enjoy the area 13 Jun 2014

Wonderful emphasis on neighborhoods. Especially useful if you have more time in the area and plan to do some walking and making visits to site in addition to or instead of museums. There is so much more to see and do!
